Depression Therapy
Healing depression through connection, emotional safety, and self-understanding
Depression can show up in ways that are difficult to explain to other people. Sometimes it looks like sadness, heaviness, or hopelessness. Other times it looks like exhaustion, numbness, irritability, disconnection, overworking, shutting down, or feeling like you’re simply moving through life without fully being in it.
You may find yourself withdrawing from people you care about, struggling to feel motivated, criticizing yourself constantly, or wondering why everyday tasks feel so difficult. Depression can also create a painful sense of stuckness — part of you wanting things to change while another part feels overwhelmed, discouraged, or emotionally shut down.
In our work together, therapy becomes a space to slow down and understand what your depression may be protecting, expressing, or carrying. Rather than treating you as “broken,” we approach your experience with curiosity, compassion, and respect for the ways you have learned to cope.
Together, we will explore both the emotional roots of depression and the patterns that keep it going in the present day. We will work toward helping you reconnect with yourself, your emotions, your relationships, and the parts of life that may have started to feel distant or unavailable.
Over time, therapy can help you feel more emotionally connected, more grounded in yourself, and more capable of moving through life with energy, meaning, and self-trust.

My Approach
My approach to depression therapy is relational, experiential, and deeply compassionate. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and strengths-based therapy to support both emotional healing and practical change.
Using IFS, we explore the different parts of you that may carry hopelessness, self-criticism, shutdown, or emotional overwhelm with curiosity rather than judgment. AEDP helps us process emotions in a safe and supportive relationship so you can move beyond numbness and disconnection toward greater emotional clarity and self-understanding.
I also incorporate DBT skills to help you manage difficult emotions, navigate stress, and build healthier coping strategies in daily life. A strengths-based perspective keeps therapy grounded in your resilience, helping you reconnect with the strengths and capacities that depression can make difficult to access.
Together, therapy becomes a space to better understand yourself, build emotional safety, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and meaningful.
