Sex-Positive Therapy

Thoughtful, sex-positive therapy rooted in healing, connection, and authenticity

Sexual concerns are incredibly common — and incredibly vulnerable to talk about. As a sex-positive therapist, I provide a nonjudgmental space to explore sexuality, intimacy, and connection.

Our work may include exploring sexual identity or orientation, processing sexual shame or restrictive religious conditioning, addressing relationship conflict around sex, improving communication about sexual needs and boundaries, working through trauma that affects intimacy, and helping clients normalize differences in desire or libido within relationships. I approach these conversations with warmth, openness, and respect for the complexity of each person’s experience.

Together, we will integrate emotional insight with practical tools. We look at the psychological, relational, and physiological contributors to sexual difficulties and develop concrete strategies to shift patterns of avoidance, anxiety, or shutdown. Sex therapy is talk therapy — collaborative, structured, and paced carefully — and it often brings relief not just in the bedroom, but in overall relational closeness.

Whether you’re experiencing low desire, desire discrepancy in a relationship, performance anxiety, pain during sex, orgasm difficulties, sexual avoidance, or the impact of stress or trauma on intimacy, you deserve a space where this can be discussed openly.

My Approach

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a sex educator supporting young adults in developing safe, affirming, and emotionally healthy relationships with their sexuality. That experience continues to shape my work today. I believe sexuality is not something to be pathologized or judged, but understood within the broader context of identity, relationships, culture, attachment, and lived experience.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and relational. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Imago Relationship Therapy, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) to help clients better understand the emotional patterns shaping intimacy, desire, conflict, and connection. Together, we explore the protective strategies, fears, and relational experiences that may be contributing to shutdown, shame, anxiety, or disconnection.

I approach sex therapy through both emotional depth and practical support. This means creating space for insight and vulnerability while also helping clients build concrete tools for communication, emotional safety, boundaries, and sexual connection. I am especially attuned to the ways attachment experiences, trauma, chronic stress, and cultural or religious messaging can shape our relationship to sexuality and intimacy.

Above all, I strive to create a space where clients feel respected, understood, and able to speak openly about parts of themselves that may have previously felt difficult to name.
